About Bill Richards
Bill Richards is an editorial cartoonist from Atlanta currently attending the University of Georgia as a dual speech communication and art major. Since 2005 (with a few interruptions) he has served as staff editorial cartoonist for The Red & Black, an independent student-run newspaper serving the UGA community. He has drawn over 300 cartoons in this capacity.
Richards’ cartoons have earned him many honors, including the Society of Professional Journalists’ “Mark of Excellence” award in 2006 and 2007, the 2007 Scripps-Howard National Journalism Award (finalist) and the 2007 Studentaffairs.com college cartoon contest. In addition to The Red & Black, his work has appeared in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Huffington Post, AlterNet, ProgressiveCommons.org, OurFuture.org and a number of college newspapers via syndication.
